As individuals we all have our own opinions; some of the time there is agreement, other times a healthy debate ensues! It stands to reason that the sum of our discussions shape what Almo stands for as a company, the collective response to the challenges that face us on a day-to-day basis.
It’s important for Almo to have a view, but imperative that it doesn’t prevent us from listening to our clients’ voices; we are not in business to push our own political agenda. This is not our manifesto, it is not Red, Blue, Yellow or Green, consider this collection of words as our ‘Philosophy’ and leave it at that.
Caring
The foundation of our philosophy is ‘Caring’; not very dynamic, edgy or hard hitting, but it has meant stability for Almo over the past 60 years. Why? It’s simple. Once you strip away the products, deliveries and service, what are you left with? The people and Almo people have a very special quality: they ‘genuinely care’!
This is something you can’t measure or run a report on; we know it’s true because our clients, suppliers and partners all tell us so, on a regular basis.
The Almo team has evolved with our business over many years; we have employees that have been with us for over 20 years.
Listening, not just hearing
It is because of the feedback from our clients that we have evolved into the company we are today. The logistics, products and services have all been tailored to suit the varied needs of the Almo client base.
We promise to listen to your ideas, thoughts and requests and responding appropriately.
Honesty is our best policy
A long-term relationship can only exist when it is built on truth and honesty; we want all our clients to be with Almo in perpetuity, so we must uphold these values at all times.
In a market as competitive as office supplies we discover less than reputable business practices being used to try and tempt our clients away from us. We will never engage in this type of behaviour, with anyone.
A big part of having an open and truthful relationship is being able to admit when you have made a mistake; if we slip up we’ll tell you straight away, spending our time resolving the situation as quickly as possible. This is why we have an enviable level of trust and understanding between ourselves and our suppliers and clients.
Respect is due
We have earned respect over the past 60 years from clients, suppliers, partners and friends; this would not have happened without showing others the respect they deserve. Treating people fairly and equally is paramount throughout our business, whether we’re dealing with suppliers, employees or clients.
Responsibility
As an established, respected company in the office supplies industry, Almo is acutely aware of the responsibilities it faces. Our Corporate Social Responsibility policy outlines our approach to the environmental, ethical and social issues, if you would like to read a copy please download it here.
Success = profit = savings
We operate a financially stable, secure and ‘profitable’ company’ without profits there would be no investment available to provide continual improvements to our service. Improvements provide greater efficiencies that enhance our competitiveness and maintain acceptable profits for our stakeholders.
It is in our interest and yours that Almo, our suppliers and partners all carry on being profitable; we have a great responsibility to keep your offices running efficiently and to help your organisations remain viable.
Happiness is a serious thing!
You might say that we saved the best till last and we may agree with you, but happiness is a serious thing. If we can’t bring happiness into your day, we have probably failed. We know that we sell ‘office stuff’, but if we get it wrong then it can result in misery, missed deadlines, letting your boss down, upsetting your customers or worse.
It stands to reason if all this causes un-happiness, when we get it right we’ll make you happy and, when we go beyond the call of duty, you’ll be over the moon! Please remember if you’re happy we’re happy.
